The Parish Assembly 2023 facilitated, encouraged and enabled residents to share ideas for the reduction of their personal carbon footprint. ‘Battle for our Planet’ a resident-led initiative, asked people to complete a Pledge Card to try and stick to. You can download the Pledge Card below. It takes five minutes to complete.

You can calculate your environmental footprint and learn how you can reduce your impact by clicking here https://footprint.wwf.org.uk. Make a note of your score on your pledge card and then a diary reminder to re-check it in six month’s time, to see if you have reduced it.
Energise Sussex Coast
Energise Sussex Coast (ESC) has recently received 3 year funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. The funding will be used to support communities to start their own energy projects, providing mentoring and support to get them off the ground. Projects could be putting solar on the roof of a local school, a group buy scheme, retrofit projects, renewable heat, or community decarbonisation. Energise Sussex Coast welcome enquiries from Battle communities about any projects they would want to launch. Funding will also be used to train and mentor volunteer Energy Champions to support their communities through the energy crisis, empowering them to assist people with their energy bills and to save energy. ESC Energy Advisors provide free energy advice every Wednesday in the Almonry, 38 High Street, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Residents are welcome to drop in or book an appointment by calling 01424 390062.
