Calling All Young Leaders of Battle

We are excited to invite you to be a part of the Battle Town Council Youth Forum. We believe that young people like you have valuable insights that can help make Battle an even better place to live, learn, and visit.

The Youth Forum is all about giving you a voice and an opportunity to share your ideas, ask questions, and make a difference in our community. We want to create a space for open and honest conversations between you and our town’s leaders.

What will you do in the Youth Forum? Well, you will have a chance to:

  • Share your vision for Battle.
  • Ask questions and request changes.
  • Work together with other young people to propose projects.
  • Meet a few times a year to discuss important issues.

Here’s how it works:

  • You can apply to be part of the Youth Forum. We’re looking for two students from years 5 and 6 at Battle & Langton and Netherfield schools, and two students from years 9 and 11 at Battle Abbey School and Claverham.
  • The three main uniformed groups in Battle (ATC, Scouts, and Guides) can also apply for two spots each.
  • In the first year, students in years 6 and 11 will serve for one year, and students in years 5 and 9 will serve for two years.
  • In the second year, students in years 5 and 9 can apply to serve for two years, which will help provide continuity and let year 11 students focus on their exams.

At each meeting, two Councillors will be there to offer guidance and make sure the discussions are fair and open. The Youth Forum will pick its own leader, set rules, come up with ideas, and plan projects.

This is your chance to talk about things that matter to you.

Download and complete the application form (below), make sure your parents are okay with it, and send it back to Councillor Vikki Cook at: The Almonry, High Street, Battle TN33 0EA or email it to

We can’t wait to hear your ideas and have you on board. Your voice matters, and together, we can make Battle an even better place for everyone.
