Important Roadworks: North Trade Road

Important Roadworks: North Trade Road

Update from East Sussex Highways:

As you may be aware, East Sussex Highways (ESH) plan to resurface North Trade Road in the 2024/25 financial year. However, Southern Gas Networks (SGN) currently have a closure on the only available diversion route until January 2025, meaning we are unable to carry out our substantial repairs until their works are completed.

However, we are acutely aware of the current condition of the surface of North Trade Road. As such, we will be carrying out interim spray patching repairs along the road, to ensure it remains safe for road users, until the more extensive repairs can be delivered in 2025.

When do they start?

We require two nights to complete the spray patching, and the works are planned to take place during the week commencing 8 April 2024. We will work from 20:00pm – 06:00am, when the roads are less busy, and we will keep noise to an absolute minimum to reduce disruption as far as possible.

These works are weather dependent and require fair conditions to be completed. If there are delays due to the weather condition, signage on site will be updated to confirm the new start and/or completion date.

Where are we spray patching?

These works will take place between Claverham Community College, to the west of North Trade Road and the police station to the east.

How will this impact highway users?

There will be no road closures while we are working, however temporary traffic lights will be required to safely conduct the works.

Information for residents and businesses

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: As previously confirmed, these works are entirely weather dependant.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause.
